【摘要】:Thispracticeisdesignedtodeterminetheeffectsofdifferentpackagingmaterialswhetherofconstructionorsystems(overpack,inertatmosphere,etc.),orboth.Differentpackagingmaterialsmayrequiredifferentpackagingsystemsandthusdetectabledifferencesmaynotbeexperimentallyseparablefromtheseinfluences.Thepracticethen,islimitedtothosesituationswherecomparativeresultsaremeaningful.Thispracticeshouldbeusedwhereexperimentalmaterialsoralternatestorageconditionsareevaluatedagainstaknowncontrol,forexample,asoftdrinkincanswithexperimentallinersversusknownliners,orpotatosticksinplasticbagsversuscoatedpaperbags.Acceptedindustrystandardpackages,suchasglassbottlesandmetalcansmayalsobeusedascontrols.1.1Thispracticeisdesignedtodetectthechangesinsensoryattributesoffoodsandbeveragesstoredinvariouspackagingmaterialsorsystems,orboth.Itisnotapracticeintendedtodetermineshelf-life.1.2Thispracticemaybeusedfortestingawidevarietyofmaterialsinassociationwithmanykindsofproducts.Therearemanywaysinwhichapackagingmaterialmayinfluenceaproductduringstorage.First,thepackagingmaterialmaycontaminatetheproductwithoff-flavorsbydirecttransferofpackagingcomponentcompoundstotheproduct.Second,thepackagingmaterialmayadsorbcomponentsfromtheproductwhichmaythenbefurthertransferredtotheatmosphere,thusreducingaromaintensityintheproduct.Third,externalcontaminantsmaypermeatethepackageandpossiblybetransferredtotheproduct.Inadditiontoflavorinfluences,packagingmaterialsmayallowcolorortexturalchanges,orboth,andmanyothermeasurablesensoryeffects.
